VIRES Virtual Test Drive – VTD is our complete tool-chain for driving simulation applications. VTD is mainly used for the development, testing, and validation of driver assistance and active safety systems. Against this background, it is also used in the field of “highly automated driving”. It covers the entire range from the generation of 3D content to the simulation of complex traffic scenarios and the modelling of both simplified and physically driven sensor technology. It is used in SiL, DiL, ViL and HiL applications and may also be operated as co-simulation.

Your tasks:

  • Work as part of an agile team on the further development of VTD’s 3D rendering engine
  • Develop, design, modify, optimize, and debug 3D rendering engine code
  • Deploy, validate, evaluate, and test software on supported platforms
  • Develop and integrate deterministic real-time, low latency interfaces for the rendering engine 
  • Contribute to company guidelines and to an optimized agile development process
  • Collaborate with other agile software development teams
  • Communicate features with customers, sales, and marketing teams
  • Act as coach and trainer for other developers

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering
  • professional experience in computer graphics
  • professional experience in coding with C++
  • experience with real-time simulation (automotive, aerospace, military or equivalent)
  • Experience with Ray-Tracing development 
  • Knowledge of CPU, GPU and memory architectures
  • Fluent in a modern 3D graphics API (OpenGL, Vulkan or equivalent)
  • Experience writing shaders
  • Good communication and team collaboration skills 
  • Business fluent in English (level C1)

Beneficial qualification:

  • Experience in the field of driving simulation 
  • Experience with high performance, low latency, real-time systems
  • Experience in the development of advanced driver assistance and autonomous driving system
  • Experience with Linux operating system 
  • Knowledge of automotive guidelines and standards, e.g. Automotive SPICE, SoTiF, CERT C Coding and/or MISRA
